1860s BLACK GENTLEMAN LEANING ON LADDER ACTOR 6TH PLATE TINTYPE

We are offering an1860's 1/6th Plate Tintype Photograph of a Gentleman who appears to be of Mixed Race. He is probably a product of Spanish intermarriage with either a black person or a native Mexican person. The man is leaning on a ladder - was this possibly the set of a scene from a play - is he an actor?

We don't know for sure. We are not certain where the man resided. He may have been living in Mexico or California. It is even possible, he may have lived in the American southeast as a descendent of a mixed racial marriage of a Spaniard with a black person during the time of Spanish influence in New Orleans. CONDITION: Tintype is in Excellent Condition - clear & bright. It is housed in a leather HALF-CASE; the front part of the case is missing.
